ABOUT US

It is a registered body with the responsibility of overseeing the planning and staging of Football 7 Matches and training in Trinidad and Tobago.

On May 30th and 31st 2015, , our organization successfully hosted the T&T Football 7s Challenge Cup at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva. The tournament comprised of teams and players coming from areas such as Fyzabad, Gasparillo, Sangre Grande, La Brea, Barrackpore, La Horquetta, Valencia, Arima, Trincity, Arouca, Morvant, Laventille, Carenage, Point Fortin, Siparia and Chaguanas.

Throughout 2016, we hosted the Football 7s tournament in conjunction with the Inter-Agency Task Force’s Hearts and Minds project at the St Paul’s Recreation Complex in Port of Spain, bringing together twelve teams from the Laventille region.

In September, another tournament was hosted at Sogren Trace, Laventille, followed the first competition for 2017 at Troumacaque, Laventille. A total of 25 teams and communities from Laventille and environs came together for healthy competition on the football field.

PROJECT AIM AND OBJECTIVES

To provide a Football 7 platform of international standards that meets the needs of Football 7s at locations that is acceptable to all and which supports the development of an integrated society through sport and other outdoor recreational activities.

The following objectives have been identified:

To support the development of sport in Trinidad and Tobago in terms of enjoyment and participation by providing:

  • A facility to host Football 7 Training Sessions and Development programs for Players, Coaches, Trainers, Motivational Speakers, Sport Physiotherapists, Media and Marketing Personnel.
  • To increase the number of spectators attending football matches in Trinidad and Tobago through a high level of hosting.
  • To Show an upward trend in participation levels in Football 7s.
  • To improve the international image of Trinidad and Tobago by demonstrating the ability to host major international Football 7 events.
  • To encourage greater access by all parts of the Trinidad and Tobago community.

GOALS OF FOOTBALL 7

Our Goal is to develop a platform for Football Sevens players. Our aim is to also create an every day environment designed to produce the next generation of players in this version of the sport. The Association will stage tournaments locally and also create opportunities for international appearances.

All members will have the opportunity to grow as a player and an individual with the Football Sevens Association.. All investments go a long way in preparing the young children of Trinidad and Tobago to evolve as better individuals and player in the future where opportunities for educational scholarships or professional contracts for the full version of football (eleven-a-side) can be attained; they can go on to become better, disciplined individuals; become coaches; trainers, football referees and branch off into other professions aligned with football and sport in general.
